I am in a happy dreamy romantic mood. Just watched Amelie and decided that film is *so* me. Like totally me .I was practically in tears in places and its been a long time since anything has emotionally affected me in this way. Everything is happy and friendly and I want to hug the world. I'm a romantic dreamer at heart always looking for the happy ending in everything. Call me a fool if you like but I live for dreams.

I'm going to Paris in June! To meet Val for her birthday! Go me! *excited*

Yay! Paris! Where will you be? We have a flat over there, so, just curious. ~s~ Paris is wonderful...

And you are so enchanting. ~smile~

We have a flat there because mum was working over there and needed somewhere to stay. It's small, but beautiful - and we're hardly ever there, more's the pity.
Hmm. Gap year next year. Time, possibly, to go and stay there by myself for a bit. Definitely a Good Thing.

Well should I ever be over there you are of course welcome to stay with me. ~smile~ I'd give you the keys tomorrow but I think my parents might object...
Paris *is* lovely. But I don't like it nearly as much as I do London. London is so much more beautiful.
Oh! Have you been to the Musée D'Orsay? If you haven't, you must go. Must, must, must.

~laughs~ Unfortunately no flat in Prague, I'm ever so sorry.
I'm a trusting sort of person. I mean, *would* you run off with all our things and murder the landlord? Well, no. So no reason not to trust you. ~smile~

We went to Prague earlier this year, with our choir...I have to admit I hated it, but since everyone else always goes on about how wonderful it is, I'm not sure what I missed. ~sigh~
I've travelled lots in Europe with my mother. I'm lucky. ~smile~

Perhaps I don't see enough of the beautiful side of it when I'm there...

Lack of cute people mind you. French people are...so..er...french.

On a morning like this, you make me laugh? Truly, sir, you are a genius. ~smile~
And absolutely right, of course. The only attractive people in the whole of France are the men who work backstage at the opera houses...

I've never quite understood what people find so attractive about the French accent. Had my French speaking exam today, and my accent is perfect, but I'd so much rather be able to speak Italian, it's much more liquid and less harsh...

And my mother is a singer, so I spend much time hanging around the backstage areas in opera houses around the world. ~g~ Only lurk there if you're looking for pretty stagehands or members of the male chorus, though. ~smile~
But oh my, they *are* pretty. ~memories~

~laughs~
I guess it doesn't work that way for you then? :)

No, just makes me think of my mother's insane French fans, I think.

But I do understand what you mean, since I get the same around most Scottish, some Welsh, and a great many English regional accents. ~shrug~ I'm just odd, as no doubt you've observed.

It just turns off most of my higher brain functions and I just melt into the floor into some deamlike intoxicated state. *floats*

~curious~ French people speaking French, or speaking English with a French accent?
If it's the former, it's going to take a lot to stop me from talking French at you if we ever meet just to see that. ~grin~

Oh, you know I'd never use anything you told me against you. Honest. Not me. ~halo~

~smile~ And you're ticklish as well? Oh, dear.

That's a coincidence, I saw Amelie recently as well and reacted much the same... and yes it *is* very you, I hadn't thought of that. In fact you may just be the reason why it's me as well. I dunno.

Hmm... I was a lot like that anyway, but meeting someone else who was even more like that kind of inspired me.

Argh *hugs*... well, you haven't had any ending yet, y'know, you're very much in the messy middle of the film I think... maybe in real life everyone is... but happy endings *are* the most tear-jerking anyway, I know what you mean.

I am grinning my head off because I apparently inspired you. That is so funny and wonderful. Obviously we were both great to start off with but we each thought the other was better and so inspired each other to greater heights...

BTW, I am going to be in London on the weekend of the 11th/12th and quite possibly the 13th and 14th as well, so I can do my penance and come and see you :) also I just found 'Games People Play' in my wardrobe, do you want it?

You think I'm better than you? Jeez, thank you... I think I'll frame that next to Catriona saying I'm a better writer than JK Rowling :) It's a really good job we started talking to each other again, as I'd have been left with very different ideas of what you thought of me otherwise...

As for the weekend, I'd prefer something that didn't cost money *or* involve food, but I'm trying to achieve a semblance of normality in these matters so a picnic or something would be OK... anyway, what time, ish?

Oh yeah, um... I think you're better than me as well. If you hadn't guessed from my reaction. All this probably means a) we're both really good in not-easily-comparable ways, and b) we both have a spot of self-image trouble :)
