I am in a happy dreamy romantic mood. Just watched Amelie and decided that film is *so* me. Like totally me .I was practically in tears in places and its been a long time since anything has emotionally affected me in this way. Everything is happy and friendly and I want to hug the world. I'm a romantic dreamer at heart always looking for the happy ending in everything. Call me a fool if you like but I live for dreams.
I'm going to Paris in June! To meet Val for her birthday! Go me! *excited*

Date: 2002-04-21 11:17 pm (UTC)Hmm. Gap year next year. Time, possibly, to go and stay there by myself for a bit. Definitely a Good Thing.

Date: 2002-04-24 09:11 am (UTC)Paris *is* lovely. But I don't like it nearly as much as I do London. London is so much more beautiful.
Oh! Have you been to the Musée D'Orsay? If you haven't, you must go. Must, must, must.

Date: 2002-04-25 12:07 am (UTC)I'm a trusting sort of person. I mean, *would* you run off with all our things and murder the landlord? Well, no. So no reason not to trust you. ~smile~
We went to Prague earlier this year, with our choir...I have to admit I hated it, but since everyone else always goes on about how wonderful it is, I'm not sure what I missed. ~sigh~
I've travelled lots in Europe with my mother. I'm lucky. ~smile~

On a morning like this, you make me laugh? Truly, sir, you are a genius. ~smile~
And absolutely right, of course. The only attractive people in the whole of France are the men who work backstage at the opera houses...

Date: 2002-05-01 07:52 am (UTC)Although the accents are to die for. I think i'd fall instantly for *anyone* cute with a french accent. *swoooooon*. Remind me to go french dancing more often - *melts*
And what do you know about the backstage crew of french opera houses? *curious* What have I been missing all this time?? Should I lurk there when I go to Paris next month? *wideeyedsmile*

Date: 2002-05-01 08:15 am (UTC)And my mother is a singer, so I spend much time hanging around the backstage areas in opera houses around the world. ~g~ Only lurk there if you're looking for pretty stagehands or members of the male chorus, though. ~smile~
But oh my, they *are* pretty. ~memories~

No, just makes me think of my mother's insane French fans, I think.
But I do understand what you mean, since I get the same around most Scottish, some Welsh, and a great many English regional accents. ~shrug~ I'm just odd, as no doubt you've observed.
It just turns off most of my higher brain functions and I just melt into the floor into some deamlike intoxicated state. *floats*
~curious~ French people speaking French, or speaking English with a French accent?
If it's the former, it's going to take a lot to stop me from talking French at you if we ever meet just to see that. ~grin~

Date: 2002-04-30 04:11 pm (UTC)I thought it was you that inspired *me*.
Even so, I've always been the one to try and help everyone. I think I do that too much to the extent that they feel that i'm getting involved in things that are 'none of my business' or I intefere and things go wrong or I neglect myself (just like amelie).
Plus I've always had a mischievous nature to be adventurous and playful to the extent of laying trails for people or leaving random objects anonymously where they are like to find them.
The me/amelie comparison only falls down becasue the film has a happy ending. In fact I was almost hoping it *wouldn't* be a happy ending - i knew any happy ending would make me cry. Just because.
Re:
Date: 2002-05-01 10:23 am (UTC)I am grinning my head off because I apparently inspired you. That is so funny and wonderful. Obviously we were both great to start off with but we each thought the other was better and so inspired each other to greater heights...
BTW, I am going to be in London on the weekend of the 11th/12th and quite possibly the 13th and 14th as well, so I can do my penance and come and see you :) also I just found 'Games People Play' in my wardrobe, do you want it?
no subject
Date: 2002-05-02 05:46 am (UTC)ooooh! Visit me!! *lotsofbounces* That weekend would be fab. We could do picnic or museum or BBQ or theatre or cinema or just chase the pigeons and hug the trees and make it a weekend of silliness. *dancesaround*
And I'd love a copy of 'Games People Play'. Good book. good book!! :)
Re:
Date: 2002-05-02 06:59 am (UTC)As for the weekend, I'd prefer something that didn't cost money *or* involve food, but I'm trying to achieve a semblance of normality in these matters so a picnic or something would be OK... anyway, what time, ish?
Oh yeah, um... I think you're better than me as well. If you hadn't guessed from my reaction. All this probably means a) we're both really good in not-easily-comparable ways, and b) we both have a spot of self-image trouble :)

Date: 2002-05-02 02:58 pm (UTC)Ok, I'll stop making your ego inflate to galactic proportions now, but it just *had* to be done.
As for your weekend in london - well anytime is good fro me, but lets provisionally say sunday afternoon. Usually not much else happening then. Picnic sounds an eminent plan of sorts, although if you'd just prefer somehting simple and just want to pop in for a chat, thats ok, but i'd rather go out and *do* something. Bat is almost certainly in london too that weekend, maybe we can co-ordinate things with her.
Maybe easier to arrange this on email.
