I've tried *everything* I can think of. Yes, I unplugged *all* the phones, tried different filters, and even no filter at all (with no phones), tried plugging the modem into different socket, including the BT master socket. Even tried with a different ADSL modem. No sychronization. Not one bit. Zen claim the line has been activated but agree with me that there is no sync on the line. BT are having a look at what may be wrong.
