New phone and boots!

Thanks to the generosity of the very lovely evil_nick, I have returned to the world of mobile-phone-ownership. To tell the truth, and this may be heresy to the ears of those who cannot-live-without-it, I've actually not missed the thing at all, but hey, they come in very useful at the most unexpected moments, don't they? If you wish to know the number and have managed to escape the emails I've already sent out, then please ask, and I'll gladly tell you the number, unless you're an axe wielding maniac.

Additionally, there was a very evil discount boot shop near to the phone-unlocking place which distracted me somewhat and then made me poorer (although only by a little bit, so that's OK) and now I have new black things with steel anti-toe-sqaushers which looks like they'll take ages for me to lace up. And more importantly, means the boots that died in Italy at new year but I've still been wearing up until now because of lack of other suitable footwear have now had a proper funeral.

Hmmm, I think I could live without my phone quite easily -- I use it about once a month! OTOH, when they're useful they're very useful, particularly in the wilds of Scotland.

*nods* I use mine very little too - I'd not put any credit on the phone that got stolen since last summer, it's lasted me that long.
Still, at times it's been invaluable.
Yay evil_nick foe giving me a shiny spoogly phone - which as an added bonus, came complete with the phonenumbers of all of Nicks friends! *eeep*. Luckily for him, I'm not about to blackmail him, and found the master erase option.

Yay, I hope you get on well with it and don't find the user interface too annoying. Just out of interest, how much did the unlocking cost? Was it easy to find a place to unlock it?

Its a lovely phone - i had a lot of trouble at first, but that was mainly due to total unfamiliarity with the phone rather than it being inherantly annoying - i think i've mastered most of the essential things now, and it's more than adequate! :)

There are many places than unlock phones in Stratford - unfortuantely I tried on the Sunday before the Bank Holiday, and they were all shut, as were all mobile phone shops in Stratford. I found one open in Leytonstone however, which charget 15 pounds for unlocking, which i thiout a little steep, but i don't know how much it is usually, and as they were the only ones open, and i wasn't willing to wait until tuesday, I chose them. They did make up for it by only charging me 15 pounds for a SIM card, which apparently cost 30 pounds in most other mobile phone shops. So 30 pounds in total, which I'm happy with.
