They'd improved the drainage at the site hugely. I hate to think what the flooding would have been like if not. But however good your drainage is, if there's non-stop heavy rain for a day and hundreds of thousands of people stomping around, then a mudbath is inevitable. They could do nothing to stop this. Still it was alarming to have rivers of mud flowing down paths, and huge moats around some tents.
