Unfortunately it's too cloudy here for me to see much - and I can't see the sun from my office anyway. And the NASA website has gone down from the sheer volume of people trying to watch it online. :-/
Yep, it does always come back. You've just remineded me of an obscure sci-fi book i read as a child where some evil giants kidnapped the sun during a total solar eclipse, so that it didn't come back.

From what I remember of Manchester and Stockport as a kid you could see the raincloud hovering over the place as you got near on the M6!
