Who should I vote for?
Your expected outcome:
Liberal DemocratYour actual outcome:
| Labour -6 | |
| Conservative -46 | |
| UK Independence Party -35 | |
You should vote: Liberal Democrat
The LibDems take a strong stand against tax cuts and a strong one in favour of public services: they would make long-term residential care for the elderly free across the UK, and scrap university tuition fees. They are in favour of a ban on smoking in public places, but would relax laws on cannabis. They propose to change vehicle taxation to be based on usage rather than ownership.

Am going to urge everyone to take the above test. The results should be interesting, I think. Can anyone prove it biased? *curious*

If that's biased, then that probably means I'm actually a raging Tory!
I don't think it's biased, unless there proves to be a consistent difference between expected and actual outcomes. I suspect it's more that this corner of LJ is a highly selected cross section of society, with *much* more similarity in our general views than a random subset of the population.
Note I voted neutral on the Euro and in favour of the Constitution, but still got a positive for UKIP! Don't know what their other policies are, but still, eh?

Date: 2005-04-12 02:31 pm (UTC)I don't see any reason to think that it's purposefully biased, but it's definitely biased. I think I've seen exactly one case of someone being told to vote other than Lib Dem. This includes me - and I can tell you that that's pretty seriously wrong.

Yes - the Tories under Howard are virtually as statist as the current regime. UKIP, on the other hand, have been making some interesting minarchist / classical liberal / free market noises of late.

I got lib dem too
Date: 2005-04-12 03:09 pm (UTC)I tried it again with "conservative" answers, and came out highly in favour of conservatives, and highly against libdems... so it can go either way....

I reckon you're right about the bias in favour of Lib Dems, for instance the phrasing on the questions about tax. There was nothing about spending on the police, which I believe is a higher priority with some of the other parties.
