Waaah! Nobody wants to come to Riga, despite that being the most voted place. But lots of interest in Berlin. So change of plan again- we are just going to Berlin. Thursday 10th - Monday 14th February, £36 return flight. Any more takers? Shout now and we’ll book you a ticket. *hopefulbounces*

Did you get flights with Easyjet or someone else? I'll have to do more travelling soon rather than just back and forwards to England all the time!

Find time! Yes, I know you should be writing up you PhD, but you need a break every now and again. Yes, flights are Easyjet, which sadly means going to Luton again, but hopefully that can be overlooked. And I don't think you visit England often enough. :)

Can't believe you've got no takers for Riga. You must go another time - they sell Fazer in the supermarkets (the Latvian equivalent of Tescos is called Rimi!!) and the Rigas Balsam is a fine, fine imbibition. Mind you, it sounds like you've been on it already if you're seeing blue trees at this time of day!

*sadnoises* 15 people initially said they wanted to go to Riga, and now none, sadly the way the world works. I'm sure I'll get there another time later next year, possibly on another Baltic expedition, as i really really want to go there. Espeically if Fazer can be found there. (I will go anywhere for chocolate!).

I'd have to turn down the snog anyway, as theres only one person I'd be happy kissing right now. ;)

Hmm. I could do Berlin, in theory, but I have reservations -

a) No idea what the workload will be like at that stage (probably nasty, since second essay has to be in on the 25th, and I'll be desperately editing)

b) Valentine's Day? You want me around on Vallie's Day? That is a recipe for disaster. Well, that and vodka, but there we go.

Me please! My 40th birthday is in February, and I want an adventure to mark it (we were planning to go to Paris, but I have decided I want a big party instead) and £36 means that if I'm sick at the time, I won't have lost that much money. I've just checked the website for the German Embassy in Australia and I won't need a visa either. I know very little German though, having only done one term of it at school (my school was really crap and got the teachers to teach their native language as filler subjects, grrrr).

B-movie didn't happen due to needing a night in for once (yes yes, my social life is killing me!) and going splat. Was excellent to see you at the party on Saturday, and pity I didn't get to say goodbye properly, you'd gone by the time I struggled out of bed!

Berlin sounds fun but I highly doubt I'll have a passport. After all, I've utterly failed to get one thus far this year so I doubt next year will be any different.

So despite actually speaking German, don't bother putting me down. Besides, I can think of many places I'd rather be on Valentine's Day than Luton Airport. :-/

I have other reasons too, but those will do.

Actually, you're so right about places to stay on V-day, although on the return flight it's going to be time spent at Berlin airport, which sounds marginally more exciting than Luton airport.

Sorry sweetie - it was just looking like nobody was going to be there, and I wanted people to celebrate my birthday with. I don't mind travelling to Riga alone, but not for my birthday! I will get there another time. Or maybe I'll even get to Oslo. Maybe a combined Norway -> Sweden -> Latvia thing via ferries and stuff. Oooooh. *ideas*. I have a particularly good reason to want to go to Sweden now. *grins*

I'll buy a ticket for you on the express before you arrive...sod the rubles, it'll be hasstle enough getting home from Pavletskaya (1 change, on the dreaded circle line) without also traveling from Domodevovo metro station too.
