She's taken up residence in my bed. Her name is Azi and she's got lovely blue eyes and a welcoming smile. She has impeccable dress sense and decorates her long dark hair with pretty lace. She's quiet and obedient, is incredibly cute and is nice to snuggle up to. My perfect woman?

Time to admit that she's about 30cm tall and is full of stuffing. My love life reaches yet another new low.

Awwwww. So how did I acquire this little ball of cuteness? On saturday I was being fanboy to my favourite band, the wonderful RazorBladeKisses. Thusly and quite insanely I travelled all the way out to Winchester to see them playing in the back room of a pub (yep, well over the top dedication is me). Normally the pretty Layla ([livejournal.com profile] daevas) and Azi sing lovely duets, which I find a major appeal of thir sound. On arrival Layla sadly informed me Azi was feeling ill. *sob* So in a moment of genius she'd cleverly made a doll of Azi, dressed just the same as her. Awwwwwwww. Layla sang onstage on her own with the doll. At first I was slightly disappointed, as I'd gotten very used to the harmony of two singers in the sound of RBK and there was a strong sense of something lacking. About 3 songs in this feeling faded, and I noticed for the first time what a strong singer Layla is on her own, and this made me happy again - she managed to carry the whole set solo and I loved it, which was a wonderful achievement. Yay. Admittedly there were signs of nervousness in Layla's eyes, but overall the band was massively more confident than last time I saw them - the presence was greater, the stage banter was hilarious and even played an unplanned encore. I even found myself singing along to songs I believe are not yet recorded and only know them from hearing them at previous gigs (which shows how much of a sad fanboy I am. ah well). The poor Azi doll got thrown around a bit during the set, and at the end guess who ended up with it? *smallsmile* I looked after the poor doll and straightened her hair out and everything. And Layla is a total sweetie as she not only got me a drink but let me take the doll home with me. Which makes me very happy.

PLUS, I had a fab time on Friday night dancing away at a fun Scottish Ceilidh in Camden - met up with people first for pub and noodles, and found them to be a wonderfully eclectic mix of people from my present and past, namely [livejournal.com profile] doseybat, [livejournal.com profile] bfo, [livejournal.com profile] dextress, [livejournal.com profile] phlebas, [livejournal.com profile] hatter and [livejournal.com profile] rillaith, before heading to Cecil Sharp House and dancing some fun and occasionally very silly dances. Yaaaay. I hope to get along to this sort of thing semi-regularly from now on. Plus I picked up a flyer which is helping me find more advanced dancing classes. *excited*

Today [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard took me out to Twickenham, where a lot of black-clad goths descended on a very pretty garden by the side of the Thames for a picnic. The garden is dominated by a massive and breathtaking exquisite Italian-style fountain, adorned with horses and nymphs, and was where The Cure filmed the video for "The Hanging Garden". The picnic was lovely and relaxed, and I was happy to meet and talk with lots of new and exciting people. There was squirrel feeding and parakeet spotting. And absinthe. And then they found out I was ticklish. Oooops. Still, It was fun. *bounce*

And after all that, suddenly my social calender is looking highly empty for much of August. Help me fill it up! I'd like to get out and see people. *hopefulsmile*

That is a lovely doll (and the bed looks nice too), I think [livejournal.com profile] daevas would make a killing should she ever decide to make a few of them and sell them somewhere like the Bizarre Bazaar at Whitby :-)

There's a BU Tuesday week, if that helps.

I haven't been before, but keep meaning to. [livejournal.com profile] valkyriekaren goes, and [livejournal.com profile] bootpunk and [livejournal.com profile] kittygoth, I think. The site says that bi-friendly people are welcome.

I'll check with family and let you know tomorrow, but that's probably a yes. I am not 100% healthy right now, so I may not eat a lot - but I should be okay to come out, at the very least. :)

That doll is *cute* :) Sounds like you had a fab time too and Twickenham is a nice area...damnit, I spent two years loitering around there. I wonder if the abandoned swimming pool is still there (used to hide out there every now and then...ever teenager needs an abandoned building in their life I reckon...)

Anyway *eh hem* you *know* that I'm re-appearing in Velki Britannia on Saturday?

And I want to go shopping. Nowt exciting. Just some wearable clothes :)

Maybe Sunday 8th? I need to head towards Green Park to check some things out and then I'll probably just wander around the rest of the day...and buy things :) Well...call me on Saturday evening, if you're in.

Sorry!

I spoke to my mum this morning and she wants me this Sunday *sigh*. Well, it's fair enough I guess - she hasn't seen me in a long time. Still...*boooooooooooring* :( Ah well.

I know I'll be in for a shock. Apparently I now have a bed though.

My plane is due to land just before 8 in the evening. So realistically I should be home about 10ish. I don't think popping around might be much of an option at that time!

But I'll speak to you (and see you) soon

fatval (gr, I hate my stomach :-<)

You should have come on Sunday. Fran and Sheridan were there, as were a couple of other vamyre connection folk.

Oh my!

You went to York House Gardens. Did you look across the river to Eel Pie Island? If you did you saw where I grew up (though not my house since that's on tother side of the island). The statues are fab although they are currently all clean, ten years ago they were covered in graffiti and two of the ladies had purple knickers painted on them which added...erm...something to the experience.

I'd like to fill up your social calendar sometime when Val is around too. Check your e-mail.

Love

Penny

Yeah I remember the knickers being painted on by some lefty womens right group I think from Richmond College.
We used to climb through the fence at Twick Yaht Club to the gardens and have midnight gatherings in there circa 1988.
If you grew up on the Island, did you know Mike Strick? he came to the picnic.

Actually its a reply to the comment above too. I suspect I may know Mike Strick's Mum and Dad (it isn't a common surname) who still live about ten doors down from my Mum, but not the man himself.

About 80-100 people live there. We're holding our wedding reception there next year so you can come and see for yourself. It's a lovely place but perhaps nnot as far out as some of the residents would like to believe.

And I haven't sent you an e-mail because I thought your old account probably wouldn't work and I couldn't find your new e-mail addy, something about fluffhouses, anyway I've asked Val to forward it to you. It's about meeting up in the narrow window between Val appearing and Pennie vanishing (i.e. on Mon or Tues next week).

Love

Penny
