Knee recovering well

Wonderful doseybat put a bandage-type thing on my knee yesterday which steadied it and helped a lot, since then the pain reduced to a dull ache when I moved it - a day of rest and massaging my knee seemed to do it well, and by yesterday evening I was limping around the house which not too much difficulty.
Today it seems even better, and while I can still feel something up with it, it's only a minor irritation and I can almost walk normally with the bandage on. I braved the journey into work, and here I am. Hooray! *hugs* to all those who offered support.

Clearing out my old inbox, which i check very infrequently, I find this:

Glad to hear your knee is better.

For the paper, I think there's one important question to ask yourself - how mcuh free time do you have?

If you can't spare the time, just tell them so politely. I'm sure they'll be fine with it.

Although they may bug you again next year about another paper. ;-)

However, if the paper is on something you are interested in, then you may as well referee it, surely?

Not sure I have the free time - and I don't think I'd get anything for it, so I'm likely to refuse. As I've not yet seen the paper, I can't really decide - or do I only get to see the paper if I agree to do it (which would be very silly)?

Ask to see the paper, so you can tell them whether it is close enough to your own work for it to be reasonable for you to act as a reviewer. Then make your mind up, and either say no, sorry, no time, or yes. :)
