Not sure I totally agree with some items on the list, although I'm very worried theres a fair number of books I've never even heard of on there. Feel very book-ignorant in comparison to [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard who appears to have read most of them. And that book-monster [livejournal.com profile] alektoeumenides is also bound to have read more, but I'm curious to know how many. And you really don't want to ask what appears to be top of the bookpile next to my bed right now. Eeeep.

Definitely don't fret

It's really silly, the books are chosen by a poll publicised by the BBC. Lots of people have voted for their favourite book out of a sample of tweny which they have read, nineteen of which were written by Terry Pratchett. There is nothing wrong with that, but the list hardly reflects the range of classics out there. I think a list of 100 best books which includes Jeffrey Archer has no credibility whatsoever. Be proud that you haven't read them.

Although I suspect you would probably quite like both Perfume and The Secret History.

Lots of love
