fluffymarkShe has been resurrected! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! I saved all the documents, and they didn't disappear down black holes and the email works and MS Office works. That's good enough for now. I can sleep peacefully.
Most annoying part: Deltree takes 2 hours to delete the windows folder. And can't be stopped once it's started. Looks like it may have been much quicker to reformat the thing.
Thanks to all the dozens and dozens of helpful comments and emails - they've been invaluable. Promise I'll stop going on about geeky things now.
