Glastonbury anyone?
Tickets for Glastonbury went on sale on Monday, and sold out very quickly. Eeep. So they only way in now is to work.
This morning in the post I got the forms to apply to work there in the recycling crew. Picking up litter and handing out bags and stuff. All very simple, maybe dull, but has its rewards, and can actually be very fun. Am trying to work out if I want to go or not - have decided I'm not going on my own, but if I can find companions to go with, then it would be fun. So is anyone wanting to work Glastonbury with me? I can photocopy the forms and send them to people. Probably need to decide quick, as I imagine the work places might shift fast now the main tickets have all gone. Ask if you want more details.
Oh, by the way it's Radiohead, REM, and Dave Gahan (from Depeche Mode) already say they're playing.

(Anonymous) 2003-04-02 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)Joe and I have two tickets so we will be going (but we won't be working) and we know some other people who will be going. Glasto may sell more tickets if they cancel a whole load of evil E-bay seller's tickets boo hiss.
Pennie V may be going, I'm not sure. Have you got her e-mail? If not drop me an e-mail and I'll send it to you.
Love
Penny

but it depends on if it clashes with exams (which i don't know the dates of yet) or emma may ball... Gut feeling says it'll clash with both, somehow, magically.
grr.
want to go want to go....

I wouldn't think it clashes with either. Glasto is last weekend of June, and Emma ball is mid june, right? And exams should be before the may ball.
Should I photocopy and send the forms to you? Or possibly you can download them from the glasto website, not checked.

I'm applying for the recycling job - done via a organisation called 'Network Recycling'. They should have forms to download in the jobs section of the official glastonbury website http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/
If you can't find them, i'll photocopy mine and send you a copy.
Deal is you work 24 hours, and for that you get free entry, protected + uncrowded camping area, hot water, hot showers, hot meals and coffee. Work is simple, and i'm aiming for the Pre-festival shift, which is even simpler, and means i don't miss anything of the actual festival itself.
Probably needs to be done quickly, as i guess other people are hunting down these work places now the main tickets have all gone.
*sigh*
Another lifetime maybe.

I hope you manage to rope some other people in though and that you have a great time.
