Accidental Slimelight
Feb. 9th, 2003 01:17 pmI hadn't planned on going out last night. It just sort of happened. I'd been staying in because I'm saving money and being good and things, and then...
...someone told us that slimes would not only be free, but would have Four floors, including one that played *just* proper goth music. So one quick tarting up later (of which there are photos...), me,
snow_leopard, and
fluffymormegil (who was visiting us this weekend) hopped on the train to slimes.
snow_leopard has written about what a disappointment it was. The 'goth' floor was the entrance bit, with a teensy dancefloor. The other 3 floors all played the same bland mix of rubbish (although right at the start the floor on the middle level was playing 'Pictures of You' by the Cure and I got the whole huge dancefloor to myself! Yay!). Yet again I discovered bits of slimelight I never knew existed - they were using a different staircase to the usual one. Even more odd was the car with fake neon leopard print parked in the middle of one of the dancefloors. We sat around upstairs talking to various peoples, and later went down and found Nils was playing danceable music on the teensy goth floor so bounced around a bit. It still wasn't like the old days (oh deary me, I'm being all nostalgic now).
In other news, we made pizza. From scratch. Mixed the dough, flattened it to make pizza base, and added all the toppings, and they were yummy. Sadly we lack the wood fired oven to make them authentic Italian style pizzas, but I think we got close. We must do that again sometime.

It used to be very nice - plenty of (scummy) seating, and of course this was in the days when at most one had an hour of bleep or other children's music in the middle of the night.
If Slimelight was still like that I would still go...
