Harry Potter and things

[livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard took me to the cinema this evening, as we had reserved places to watch the Two Towers trailer so we could drool over Legolas. No hang on....that's not quite right. Oh yes, there was this Harry Potter film. Is it wrong to fancy the bad guys? I mean, if they must make them all pretty and everything. *melts* (although not as pretty as legolas, obviously). Umm.....*distracted*...oh yes, the film...well even aside from all the prettyprettymen it was a good film, but not as good as the first one.

Walking back home, I noticed that It was a relatively clear night, and suddenly found myself stargazing. A bright planet was in the east, which could only be Jupiter, and I quickly located Sirius, and Orion, and even the Orion nebula was visible, which is not usually easy to spot from London. Huzzah. It was all very very pretty and I wish I could get to see the stars more often. Am hoping for a clear night on Monday night - it's been far too long since I've seen a meteor shower.

the bad guys are always much more attractive (compare Spike and Angel from Buffy...)
I still maintain that Legolas isn't that pretty though, and definitely not that attractive though... (and FoTR was the most boring film I've ever seen...)

Isn't Leonid paying us a visit on Tuesday morning (to be a bit more pedantic?)

You think you've got problems? I fancy *Pippin*!

Also fancying Spike lotsly in Buffy (of course), but I didn't fancy him when he was a bad guy, only since he's gone grey-hat. *But* I did fancy Drusilla lots and she's kind of permanently bad.

I think fancying bad guys is perfectly allowed. It's a fantasy, after all - definitely different from fancying nasty people in real life.

So which HP bad guy did you fancy? Are we talking Tom Riddle here? I thought he was rather pretty too...

I thought HP2 was better than HP1, though I suspect that again the LOTR things will blow HP out of the water. HP very fun though. Kenneth Branagh was adorable as Lockhart. *snigger* And Rupert Grint has the best comic timing of any 13 year old on the planet...

*hugs*, and Yay! to the stargazing.

Yep, we saw HP2 yesterday for Matt's birthday, and agree it was better than 1. Mainly I think because the director seemed to have a lot more confidence in diverging from the book where doing so would suit the pace of film much better.

Tom Riddle definitely pretty, and Branagh fantastic. Daniel Radcliffe also seems to have developed at least some acting ability since 1 as well.

Lucius! ~thud~

Tom Riddle! ~thud~

But Lucius! ~thud~
All evil and disdainful and prettier hair than Legolas and with a cane and lines like "I'll deal with you later" and and just, thud. ~nods~ Definitely thud.

Thank goodness it's not just me! Though I'm not sure I'd go with the "prettier hair than Legolas" claim...
