Strike!!!

I'm on strike today.

Well, technically it' wasn't me that went on strike, but in effect thats what happened. The news is all full of the firemen striking, but also striking today are most lecturers in london, who want an increased london pay weighting. I'm not part of any of the lecturers unions, however the teachers of the course i'm assisting with are on strike today, and as a result the lesson got cancelled, so I'm unable to work today. Hurrah!

This co-incided happily with [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard going to see the doctors this morning. She was being very scaredycatt and wanting someone to go and hold her hand when she was there. I made sure she was OK, and calmed her and she got throught it all fine, with the help of a little Haribo Starmix.

what you should do is not tell your employers our on strike then they have to pay you (not your fault you could not work) and tell your comrades you are 100% in solidarity with them and you hope they win their pay rise...

best of both worlds

Its odd that your people are striking as things are as usual at Birkbeck and my seminar is still on this evening.
