Halloween

Halloween involved lots of pretty carved pumpkins, candles, good music, nice people and party food. Yay! I'd even gothed up to college during the day, which got odd looks from the students I'm teaching, but they didn't run away screaming. Obviously I should try harder next year. *grin*

I'd been planning to perform just a small simple samhain prayer this year, when I got home, but when midnight came, I'd already felt an strong desire to go for something more elaborate. I take a very liberal view on these things, to the extent I was using jellybeans and Lemsip as offerings, which I admit is unusual, but they were the only things to hand. I had a very unexpected calling to the Samhain flame, and I'm still weirded out by that encounter. It was however, deeply moving, and very calming. I spread the seeds of new ideas, which are already bearing fruit and coming true (hooray!) and have high hopes for the future now. Old thoughts have hopefully been buried now. Still, I'm touched by what happened. *peacefulsmile*

That sounds lovely. I forgot completely to do such a thing myself...dunno why, too busy? God knows. Ah well. But I am glad you were able to gain so much from it :)

*bose* I bet whoever it was you were offering the jellybeans and Lemsip to was bloody *delighted* by them. :) *hugshugshugs* And it sounds like good things have happened to you, so I'm also delighted, though not sure what calling to the Samhain flame means... here in the penguin house it seemed to mean writing all our wishes on a massive candle, failing to burn it in the traditional candle manner and so making a massive pyre of it in the garden. And jumping over it. :)

*grin* That sounds really good... I would imagine getting an answer from a deceased spirit would be a bit er, surprising even if it was a friendly one... :}
