Yesterday, Emily was going to brighton on a shopping trip and I was easily persuaded in joining her, despite it been a weekday (this thesis is never going to get finished at this rate....eeep). It was very much an adventure for me, as I'd never made it to brighton before. Why? How has it taken me so long to go there???
Brighton is mecca for alternative shops. If I'd actually had some spare money it would easily have all been spent there. PVC and velvety clothes galore, in all strange and weird fashions I'd not seen before, many hippie type clothes, and fairy/elf style garments were found. Plus all sorts of other alternative and fashionable subculture clothing. *swoons*. Then there was all the accessories, the many many designer tiaras (pretty pretty pretty) and hairpieces, and pretty rings and brooches and other bits and bobs. I found myself liking all the most expensive ones, which meant I never actually managed to buy any. Eeep. Very nearly bought myself a cute cuddly 'Lenore' soft toy, and now I regret not doing so. And the shops just went on forever, after one lane full of fantastic shops, there was then another, and another, and they just went on and on and on...
.....it took us over 6 hours to get to the seafront from brighton station. Unfortunately by then, Seaworld has shut, so I couldn't go and see the fishies. So it was flopping on the stony beach until the sun set and it went dark, and then a stroll to the end of the pier, where we had a fun ride on the ghost train there. We ate yummy chocolate fudge on the train back to london, at the end of what was a wonderful day out. I'm definitely going back to brighton again!!! Yay! *bounce*
This evening catt cooked a lovely vegetarian bolognaise pasta dish (to which i added a mountain of cheese) and we consumed a bottle of wine (wll not the bottle itself...you know what i mean) between us, which i'm still feeling the effects of. *wobble* *tipsysmile*
