Flooding and Beer Festival
I almost never made it to the beer festival on saturday. Was on the phone to my mum when it was noticed that there was vast quantites of water flooding out ofthe bathroom, soaking floors anc carpets and everything. Eeeep! :(
Put the phone down and investigated, there was a huge leak from the drainage pipe at thh back of the toilet. Icky and messy, but the flow finally stopped when all the water had drained out, and it's now been temporarily fixed. *phew*
Arrived at beer festival on my own - slightly scary. Took me a while to figure out how things worked....so I have to rent out a pint glass? For 3 pounds? Eeeep??
Fortunately i had vouchers for various free pints, so it wasn't too hard on the wallet. Wandered around and was very pleased to find
enslore and Michaela, sitting at a table with a lot of other random people, and joined them. From the look of it they were going after trying every cider and perry available at the festival! Yay! (hic!).
At some point (and i think i'd drank too much already by then) there was an appearance of
voofy and Reagan (yay more familar faces) and it was especially nice when
fluffymormegil arrived later. Yay! :) :) :)
I had to then zoom off to the Dev in camden where i met
snow_leopard,
sheridanwilde,
emarkienna and
davefish, and promptly ate chips at them. How awfully rude of me! Eeeep. We then headed the gig. This was at the underworld, and was to celebrate 10 years of Resurrection Records (has it really been that long? Gasp!). Faces of Sarah not seen before, i was very impressed (i was also very drunk mind you.....)...they did *that* cover of 'Hit me baby one more time'. Next appeared Manuskript, playing stuff of their latest album - which i don't know, and although it sounded nice, it somehow lacked the edge and energy that the songs off their first album (which they played *none* of. sulk). Maybe they'll grow on me? Headlining was Inkubus Sukkubus, still a fine band live, and who *do* play mainly their erly stuff, which is good, and played a spectacular set, including many songs i've not heard in a very long time. Yay! :) I bounced muchly!
Left the gig, bumped into
zeke_hubris who was heading for slimelight, and as i was feeling that way inclined (and drunk, and possibly because it was free entry) i somehow decided slimes was a good idea, despite most people i was with not going. Hmmm. Anyway, I turned up there, and.....er....found emily there!! Yay! Unfortunately she was just leaving, but it was nice to see her, briefly. And i'd already managed to lose track of
emarkienna and everyone else i'd arrived with. Oooops. Wanderd around dancefloors, music very good, *2* goth floors yet again. And DJ Sexbat, he who does the 80's night at whitby was playing us tunes, and it was like the old days of slimes come back! I've not heard slimes play music like that for at least 2 years - it was very refreshing. Yay! So i bounced, but i don't have anyone to bounce with me - so got lonely eventually and left about 2am.
Am a very tired kitten.
