Another weekend. Another BBQ and Party. Except this one was a bit more special, being thrown by my housemate Catt at our house. Yay! There was indeed fun to be had, and Jelly, and Twister and suchlike.
There was also some other stuff, which I was thinking of ranting about here, but I went a bit overboard over dinner this evening and ranted them all at Catt then, upsetting her immensely. It would be wise for me to omit them completely from this journal -suffice to say, my predicitons I emailed to various people before the party proved to be entirely true. I don't want to upset her any further on this issue. *sigh*
See, I've controlled myself. No Rant. Yay!
Anyway, I'm still a happy bunny. Despite having to look after many upset/drunk people most of the evening, I still had time for my fun. I finally met
corsetboy and we came up with the startling revelation we'd gone to the same school together!! Which got me thinking.....how many other people i went to school with ended up turning goth/crossdressed/whatever? It would be interesting to find out, although very difficult - maybe i should alter my friends reunited description to read 'Lookng for any goths or other odd types'. Actaully, I may well do that. Not that I expect any more goths managed to ever crawl out of Lancaster.
And then there was Slimelight. A 3 floor special, with *2* Goth floors (one purely trad, the other with a more bleepy leaning - but not entirely). This meant that if I felt the urge to dance, then there was *always* something being played on one or other of the floors that i wanted to dance to. Yay! :) There was also lots of people to dance with - aside from the group of us that came form Catt's party, it was nice to see Rose and Francis there. And I caught up with Mat and Tessa (who managed to look very pretty) and chatted about
alektoeumenides and how she was getting on in Russia. And nices to all, there was an appearance of Gary and Claire, who i've not seen since last year, and caught up on all sorts of news and random idle chitchat with them. So lots of peopel to talk and dance to, excellent music and I was a bouncey happy bunny - this must have been one of the best Slimelights i've ever been to, and has restored my faith in the place. In fact I was still on the dancefloor when the club closed at 7:30am I was enjoying myself so much. Yay! :) :)
My sleep patterns have not recovered, my voice almost has, and the tinnitus is receding and my head feels almost normal now. Took today off though - I was feeling far too ill to go anywhere.
And I got the most *wonderful* and funny phonecall from Val today. Something about camp finnish missionaries invading the summer camp where she's working. I was in giggles for quite a while during and after that call. *smallsmile*
