Birthday cake poll

I want to bake a birthday cake for catt. Do I bake it for her birthday itself (wednesday) or her birthday party (saturday)?

In either case it's likely i'll have to bake the cake after getting back home from gossips at some silly hour of the morning. This will be fun! :)

Or a more advanced version of this plan would be to present cake on birthday in romantic fashion then if there is any left over, have it at the party. This covers all eventualities and is a little more romantic, well ... IMO anyway :)~

It would be an awfully pretty idea, and was my original plan. Yay! And it sounds good, but then I have to factor in the chances of a cake surviving uneaten at my house from wednesday until saturday. Not a hope!!!!
And before anyone suggests it, i don't have time to bake *two* cakes. No really, I don't (I can just see it happening now.....).

If its *that* dangerous you could stash it round our house. Its no bother and we are generally cake resistant as we are all dieting :)~

Oh the hassles of cake-saving. You have enough birthdays around your house I think this week, you don't need *another* birthday cake do you? :)

Lol! I was being serious! I'm not a huge fan of birthday cake!

Although now that you mention it, I havnet had a birthday cake for years I might pick myself up one I think. Roll on payday!

I think she'd like a whole cake to herself. You could always make a small one for the party too.

I'm going to have to end up baking two cakes aren't I?
And then i'll have to suffer eating two cakes....it's going to be a hard traumatic week...the horror.....:-)

You could do a cake for one and a trifle for the other (although getting candles to stand up in trifle could be, um, a trifle difficult :D

Have you seen my trifles? Cream of jelly soup is probably an apt description. They just refuse to set on me (except the one time i was really really rushed and had to make it in very little time and it worked *perfectly*).
Still a cake and something else non cakelike soudns liek a fine idea, even if it is non trifial (If you can do that bad a pun so can I) :P
