Taking bites out of the sun

It was about a 20% solar eclipse from here. Well, I briefly caught a glimpse of it, and the sun looked oddly shaped, and that's about it. Wondering if anyone else got a better look at it? Or any other strange phenomena involving rains of fish and suchlike?

You could have gone to Turkey on holiday for the week. Or Libya. I was almost considering it at one stage.

Next one in 2008 in Siberia. That'd be an adventure to get to. Wonder if I should? *tempted*

We have three helicopters (possibly four, my view is restricted) hovering over EC1 in the Square Mile. I hope they don't fall out of the sky, it's even messier than the rain of frogs.

Helicopters aren't designed to fall out of the sky. Fish and frogs are very well designed to fall out of the sky. It all makes sense, and I fear I have now validated Intelligent Design as a valid idea, so I will now go and thwap myself to death with a wet haddock as punishment.

Ooooh Siberia! Well if I'm not kicked out I guess I'll still be here! Let's have a "everyone finally get their asses over to Russia to see Val and a solar eclipse simultaniously" party. I think the solar eclipse should get people over, don't you? :)

A trans-siberian trip has been on my list of things-to-do for a long time now, I was already vaguely planning it for next year sometime. The idea to start here and go East, no airplanes, until I get to Japan. Obviously if you're still around in Moscow I'll stop there for a couple of days or so on the way. The big problem is finding the time to do it.

I was wondering why all the silverware suddenly vanished! Bedratted eclipsical phenomena...

The moon is made of cheese (as we all know) but needs all the silver it can as it's really silver coated (which is why it's all shiny!) so steals it when it thinks you can't see it during an eclipse. It all makes perfect sense to me.
