Where in the world did I get so much stuff?? I have mountains and mountains of stuff still to move. Waaaaaaaaaaaaah!

[livejournal.com profile] happygoff and [livejournal.com profile] chewiemonster have been wonderful as ever, and helped with taking vanload after vanload after vanload of *things* across Leytonstone on Monday evening, and when after midnight we gave up for the night, produced another nice bottle of vintage red wine. Have I told you how much I love them both? Then, at 2AM I then had the slight problem of having to make my bed. As in make it, from the lots of little pieces I’d had to disassemble it to in order to move it. Lots of banging and screwing in the middle of the night, as it were, just so I could get a good night’s sleep. This evening has been just wholly draining, finally finishing *packing* the rest of my things to be carried over. I really never knew I had so much junk and other stuff. I’ve found lots of old photos, diaries, decorations, art....some of it deeply personal, all of which I'd totally forgotten about. Much of it I've now thrown away, sadly. No idea why I kept some of it. Still no idea why it pains me to throw some of it out, even though it is useless junk. Is saddening. I suppose we’ve moved most of the stuff now, and it's mainly finishing off to do. But the furniture in my room is going to be the hardest to get out. Eeep. And the kitchen thingies haven’t even started being packed up yet. Hmmmmm. My plan is to have a day’s break from it all, recover, and carry all the non-furniture stuff over on Thursday evening, and we can get the van around on Friday evening for the heavy stuff. And then there will be cleaning. I hate that. And then I’m going to have to unpack everything again. It’s going to be worth it all in the end, but it’s all going so painfully slowly. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

I spent £200 on amazon. Shopping therapy. Yay. Bits of the order have already started arriving. Anything to keep me going. :)

Right, one last load to carry over tonight, and then I’m heading for bed.

Glad you now have the new place to live. I suspect I would have just slept on the mattress and reconstructed the bed in the morning.

I hope you do better than me on the unpacking front, I've been in this house nearly eleven months, and I still have tons of stuff in boxes.

Yay for Shopping Therapy!

we humans are really hamsters, striving to hoard as much junk as possible that is never discovered before you have to move. mmmm, the satisfacton of piling up STUFF! :D

Good luck!

I hate getting rid of stuff too, even when it is completely useless. I hope the rest of your move is ok.

Yup, I'm a hoarder too, have stuff from when I was 2!

But then again, spending £200 on Amazon's probably not going to help that much.... bad!

I think I can make tomorrow (Thursday) evening. :-)

Could you still meet me at Leytonstone? And again, I would need a bed for the night, 'cos I'll be taking the cheap route and it's about 2 hours! (Don't worry, I'll read, it'll be fun *smiles*).

Except I think Nick's about to overrule me on this 'cos he's worried I'm overdoing it and taking everything too fast (to be fair, I have needed 2+ days to recover from my busy weekend - I have arm muscles but I'm still ill wrt stamina an' stuff).

Gah. I feel like I've really messed you around here. I'm so sorry. *many fluffy hugs* :-(

Can I let you know for definite tomorrow? Otherwise I'd better say definitely no now.

Clearouts often turn up items long forgot about, but painful to throw away. I think it is maybe past memories that may be going in the bin and said items may help bring them back. I did a lot of throwing out a lot of old pen pal letters lately which was painful, even though I dont read old ones. I just kept them. But I had stopped writing to them a long time ago and it was time to send them to the recycle bin.

Fluff! Please can you ask [profile] happygoffto send me my pool tickets which I still haven't received, or if she wants, she can try to resell them as I can't make it anymore... I emailed her 3 times and haven't heard anything back, I'm getting desperate as it's £18 I might be losing!

i threw away *10 black binliners* of stuff when moving out of the penguin house. i do however have a policy of never throwing away anything which is personal archive material, so a few boxes of that survived. they are quite scary boxes, really, and i made a point of not looking at any of it too closely, but somehow i dont feel i can kill any of it.

whats this about you having illegally kidnapped dad´s car pump thing?? *amused*
