Scary and not nice day
Jul. 7th, 2005 11:23 amWell that wasn’t a good start to the day. Firstly, Zen’s otherwise infallible record at supplying our broadband collapsed and there was no web! Wah! Then there was a rent overdue demand from the landlord, claiming we have underpaid, although I prodded them and they admit we have actually *overpaid* but their computer is being silly.
And then the tube this morning. Oh hell. Eeeeeep! *scared*
Central line was non-stop at Bank and Liverpool street, so I changed at Stratford. Just got on the Jubilee line train when Stratford got evacuated. The driver chose to evacuate the station by closing the doors and zooming the train off at full speed, taking us all for a ride. Train stopped at West Ham, which then got evacuated. The official message they told everyone was power failure but a text from
arkady informed me of explosions on trains and bombs and other nasties. *meeeeep* Very scared. Buses all packed and not going the right way. I decided getting to Wimbledon just wasn’t happening, and that home was just about within walking distance. So I just got home walking all the way. From the sounds of it buses could have been a bad idea to travel on.
So am home and safe and boggling at the news. Scary stuff.
Update: Can hear lots and lots of sirens all over the place even this far out from the city. Still scared. Need a hug.

Date: 2005-07-07 10:30 am (UTC)Actually maybe I should thank having to sort out the rent this morning. I was later out than usual, and would normally be passing through Liverpool Street and Bank about 9AM on a normal morning. Eeeep. Just realized that.
Yep, they have a printout. H not changed his payment. However, they claim we need to pay 24 days (not the 23 they told you) which means the other 3 of us all underpaid slightly. So H stopped us really being underpaid this month. We'll sort it out later.
Thanks for posting
