Dearie me, all April I’ve been wittering on about exciting Maps and Popes and things, while doing all sorts of wonderful things I’ve totally failed to write about. So a little catchup:

The Histories Reunion at the Rivendell of [livejournal.com profile] emperor and [livejournal.com profile] atreic in the wilds of Girton village is now a hazy memory, clouded by vast quantities of Gin & Tea, Mead, and genuine original historical wine. What I do recall was finding it very exciting as [livejournal.com profile] the_alchemist cast me to play Anne in The Merry Wives of Windsor and get flirted at a lot. Always a good thing. [livejournal.com profile] evil_nick has photos. Much silliness ensued. I also heartily recommend [livejournal.com profile] the_lady_lily‘s room as a venue for charming indoor picnics. I must have been very tipsy when I finally landed at darling [livejournal.com profile] cassielalone’s place late that evening, but she appears to have found me adorable in such a state, so all is not lost. In fact, the next day she introduced me to the delights of Strawberry & Cream Frappuccino, that can only be described to be a litte bit like nectar. Mmmmmmmm. The next weekend was even more daft, as I trekked out to Bristol for the great big Buffy the Vampire Slayer readthrough organized by [livejournal.com profile] smhwpf. The most fun I’ve had in ages. Amongst other parts, I got to play Spike, Willow and Tara. Yaaaaaaaaaaay! [livejournal.com profile] libellum was a perfect Vamp Willow, [livejournal.com profile] gnimmel, despite being a Buffy virgin, was fearsome as Drusilla, [livejournal.com profile] mirabehn was a charming Buffy and [livejournal.com profile] leonato sang gorgeously as Sweet in Once More with Feeling. There then followed a quite delightfully silly party, highlights of which included me umpiring a game of No-word scrabble, singing and dancing the opening speech of Richard III to the tune of the Cancan, and a massive foot-massage session which somehow turned into the Timewarp. All good fun. Squeezed midweek between these included a highly extended and delightful lunch in Wimbledon with the ever-wonderful [livejournal.com profile] 791point43, where we had good gossip about her love life, and other equally strange and bizarre things. Somewhere me and Azy doll trekked over to Reading to see the pretty RazorBladeKisses play their gorgeous music at the Rising Sun, and it was good to catch up with [livejournal.com profile] alexa_robinson and [livejournal.com profile] lady_jayney. [livejournal.com profile] daevas evilly attempted to steal back the Azy doll, but was thwarted. Last weekend I pretended to be a Goth again, and landed at the Whitby Goth Weekend, sharing a gorgeous little cottage with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard and [livejournal.com profile] bad_faery, and the Azy doll. I’d not been in ages, but [livejournal.com profile] bad_faery was a Whitby Virgin so we had lots of fun showing her around. I spent much of my time helping [livejournal.com profile] happygoff at the Goth Bring & Buy (which got me my ticket) and much of the rest attempting to matchmake [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard and [livejournal.com profile] bad_faery together. Um...the usual, there lots of people I’d not seen in ages it was good to catch up with ([livejournal.com profile] wingedharlequin I still need to challenge you to a duel after your relentless teasing!) , some fab bands (Psychophile, Queen Adreena and In The Nursery) and much silliness. On the Sunday, inspired by Psychophile, and finding the only alcohol left in the cottage was vodka, and the only mixer remaining was milk, remarkably found that vodka milk is actually very nice and not anywhere near as vile as it may sound. Am still on a post-Whitby buzz now. Yay for that. *happybounceysmile*

Suddenly my empty summer is filling up, and this is a good and wonderous thing. My love [livejournal.com profile] cassielalone has invited me to an isolated summer house on an island in Sweden in August, which I’m hugely looking forward to. *yaaaaaaaaaay* WIll be daunting and downright scary to meet her family, but nice, I think. I plan to learn some Swedish by then, which I know is doomed from the start, but I’d still like to try. June sees the prospect of The Big Session, a folk festival in Leicester with [livejournal.com profile] libellum and others, and in late May I should hopefully be off for a lovely week in Scotland. Lots of exciting things to look forward to. *yay*

Despite all these nice things, I’m overly nervous about the coming weekend. My lovely [livejournal.com profile] cassielalone is visiting me, and we have lots of plans for shopping for pretty things and sushi expeditions and the like. What is perturbing me is Sunday, being Mayday, when my nice millionaire boss is getting married in Claridges in Mayfair, of all stupidly posh places. Waaaaaaaah! So we’re both in a panic over what to wear, and I’ve got no idea what my workmates will make of Nini, and vice-versa, and it’s all very stressful. *panic* *panic* *panic*

Also I find am feeling somewhat clingy about [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard, who’s been off to Manchester for a job interview. Suddenly I realise how close I am to her, and what her close friendship means to me. The prospect of her moving away should she get the job panics me. Yes I’d be happy for her, as I know she hates her current job, but I’m going to be all selfish and want her to stay here in London, as I’d horribly miss her if she left. I never planned to stay this long in the big smoke, it’s a horrible place, and if she went the only thing keeping me here would be my job. I’d be in a horrible dilemma. *scaredmeepingnoises*

One last thing - does anyone know anywhere in the UK selling Swedish mustard? (If anyone answers IKEA I will scream and scream and scream...)

Update: [livejournal.com profile] happygoff is throwing a pool party on August 6th. Hooray!! Everybody should come :) :) :)
