A new space age?

SpaceShipOne wins X-prize. La. This has cheered me up immensely. *happysmiles*

Will be exiting to see what happens next. I wonder if Virgin Galactic will turn out as promised. And what will become of the other teams that were attempting the X-prize? Am hoping for a private spacecraft to reach orbit next. :)

The bit that impressed me was this:

The development of SpaceShipOne was funded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. He is believed to have sunk more than $20m into the project.

Given what they have managed, that really is bugger all cash for the project.
