Dearie me, It’s Talk like a Pirate day today. This makes me happy, as yesterday was
happygoff‘s Picnic and Piracy event, and I was dressed up all pirate-like. *bounce* Our glorious band of pirates, including Captain
snow_leopard, cabin boy
drivenapart, cabin bitch
gothstew and him-with-a-big-gun
philipstorry and yours truly stormed to victory on the high seas of Leytonstone boating lake by capturing lots of pirate booty from all the other boats, mainly achieved by me boarding and pillaging another boat entirely by accident. whoops. Or maybe its because we had the biggest water-guns, and our spoogly battery powered ones worked much better than expected - they can be used one-handed, which means I could use 2 at once. Yay! Everyone got totally soaked (much goth wet t-shirt goodness), and Emily got thrown in the lake. All awesome fun, and there was lots of cheese at the picnic so all in all a most splendid way to spend an afternoon. Arrrrrrr!
Yay for
compilerbitch visiting on Friday evening and it was good to have a quality time catching up with her and hearing her NASA adventures. We must meet up more often after your return from your Devon holiday, is always nice talking to you.
Grrrrr to London Open House weekend - Tried to get to see the pretty insides of the Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras Station today, and found it really meant open-if-you’d-told-them-you-were-coming-in-advance which defeats the whole point of Open House weekend, and I couldn’t get in and was very miffed. Pretty things should not be hidden away. I did however buy a pretty present for
isobell, so today wasn’t all bad.
Lovely lovely
the_lady_lily is visiting me for dinner tomorrow *squeeeeeeeeee*
taimatsu, I have your Palm. We must do lunch this week. When is good for you? *bounce*

Date: 2004-09-19 11:32 am (UTC)Flattery will get you everywhere, my dear boy. But I think I prefer the title "Ordnance Officer" - it's far less ambiguous, and more in keeping with the naval style applied to everyone else. ;-)
Actually...
Date: 2004-09-19 11:40 am (UTC)A warfare officer on a Frigate would be expected to be a First Leiutenant.
Officer on the deck! First Leiutenant Philip Storry reporting to Warfare Officer's post, Captain Madam! :-)
