Oh gods! I thought of Gaiman myself when I first read the header of your post!:)

This sounds very interesting, especially for a lazy writer like myself...

*sigh* more like the mistress of the library of unwritten poetry books, Pagan musings books and rants... and oh, ok, unwritten Doctor Who slash too. *evil grin*

I don't care what anyone says, the Doctor and the Master must be ex-lovers, that'd explain the love-hate relationship throughout centuries...

*shuts up now*

Hee. I'm too lazy even to get round to writing things in my ideas book.

The ideas book's emptiness really is a laziness issue though. I never intended to post.

Coincidence!

I'm currently halfway through a Gaiman-inspired meme which is precisely that...

Inspired by Neil Gaiman's blog entry (http://www.neilgaiman.com/journal/2004/07/shatners-bassoon.asp) for July 26, 2004 (about halfway down): and memeified by [livejournal.com profile] mrpata

The Johnny Theremin meme
Write your own ten-chapter summary to a nonexistent novel. Feel free to follow Neil Gaiman's format or be as avant-garde as you like. The only requirement is that there be ten chapters and an epilogue.

And since [livejournal.com profile] andrewwyld and [livejournal.com profile] robert_jones suggested (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ixwin/97279.html?thread=499967#t499967) I write something about her I present

Liz Stanton: International Woman of Mystery in The Web of Evil

In Chapter 1 we find Liz Stanton: International Woman of Mystery suspended over a pit of giant tarantulas in the Brazilian Jungle. Having made her escape, she heads south to keep an appointment in the bar of a luxury hotel in São Paulo.
In Chapter 2 Liz arrives at the appointment which is with her handler, Digby Marksbourne, a conscientious young chap with something of a crush on our heroine. Digby explains that the British Secret Service has received intelligence that Arachne and Ariadne - a pair of beautiful young Macedonian assassins - have been engaged by a shadowy underworld organisation (identity unknown) to kill six world leaders at an upcoming UN Peace Conference in Morocco.
In Chapter 3 we encounter Arachne and Ariadne training intensely and discussing their employer in cryptic terms, before falling into bed together and having hot, sweaty, brutal sex. In the final paragraph of the chapter, we learn they are twin sisters.
In Chapter 4 Liz Stanton arrives in Morocco and visits an amusing hookah vendor who has underworld contacts, and gathers information. She notices she is being followed by a strange dark-skinned man with a ponytail and a scar on his upper arm. In a series of short scenes, we meet each of the six world leaders taking part in the conference. The Indian delegate appears to be behaving suspiciously.
In Chapter 5 the Embassy Ball is held. Liz Stanton dances a tango with ponytail man. Shortly after midnight the Chinese delegate is found dead in his hotel room, his skin covered in strange weblike markings.
In Chapter 6 Liz tracks down Arachne and Ariadne's base. Entering when they are not there she finds poisoned darts, and vials of spider venom. Suddenly ponytail man arrives and they fight, quipping as they do so. Eventually Liz overpowers ponytail man, who claims that he is an Australian secret agent, codenamed Atrax. They agree to join forces.
In Chapter 7 flies to Stuttgart taking samples of the venom to Wolfgang Spinne, a leading arachnologist. Liz, still suspicious of Atrax feeds him false information. She narrowly escape death when a black widow spider is secreted into her hotel room and she is able to deduce that the hookah vendor is responsible and is working for the enemy.

That's as much as I've got so far (I've found it surprisingly difficult - I seem to naturally write in scenes rather than chapters)...once I have the remaining 3 chapters plus epilogue I'll post it in my journal and hope some of my friends take it up.

I recently saw something similar here (http://www.invisiblelibrary.com/), although that's mainly books-within-books.

I assume that all this is not to be confused with the Cult of the Unwritten Book from Grant Morrison's early 90s Doom Patrol comic? Anyway, completely off topic, have bought you a ticket for the Mission on Thursday, which will be 16 english pounds sterling, although I will take payment in Holland And Barrett vegetarian sausage rolls if that is easier. Doseybat was talking about catching a chinese beforehand (which would be a bit unfortunate for the poor chinaman), but in light of the fact that I suspect that we'll be in a push for time, I think the best plan would be to assemble in the Ben Crouches pub off oxford street near the plaza shopping centre (http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=529480&y=181320&z=1&sv=oxford+street&st=6&tl=Oxford+Street,+London,+W_1D&searchp=newsearch.srf&mapp=newmap.srf.), and hatch a plan from there. Also I have a friend coming, and I don't know if he'll be up for food. Also, NFD (the ex Sensorium/Nephilim members) are the support band so I wouldn't mind getting there a bit early to see them. See you Thursday.

hey there,

yes i did blather rather a lot on sunday; gah, i'd had no sleep...
anyway, the url to many exciting and randomly cool things is:
http://www.suspectpackage/geof (there might be a .org before the goef, but give it a shot)
follow the sign post to 'physics' but beware the sign post to 'other' as it houses the first few strips of geof's new comic adventure hero, fetishman. not too work friendly, but then bearing in mind where you work, it'll be ok.

hope you like the jitsu teddies...they are actually performing genuine ju-jitsu throws, and as soon as my memory is released from the clutches of the last few bottles of wine i've consumed, i could tell you the names of them.
