Yay Leather and whips and eurovision!!!

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Ukraine won the eurovision. Whips and leather and Xena the warrior princess. What more could I hope for? We voted lots and lots and lots for it, and cheered it all the way to victory. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! :)

Yes, we're not looking forward to the phone bill after we voted for it hundreds of times in Wednesday's semi-final - was out last night so couldn't watch her triumphantly cruise to victory, but very happy that she did!

Have patience - I've been back almost a week now, and have been "sorting my life out a bit" but the promised writeup of my adventures will appear soon. Tallinn is one the prettiest places I've been to (plus theres good food and beer!) and Helsinki is fantastic, with some bizarre art and lots of gorgeous toyshops. Mmmmmm. You'll both live it. :)

We didn't video it sadly, which I regret now. But we caught Terry's 'subtle' comments after the camper-than-thou Bosnian guy, which raised a chuckle!

You know, I really shouldn't plan my *next* european adventure based on my favourite eurovision entries, but thats whats been running through my head - I have sudden urges to visit Kiev now....*eeeeep* What am i thinking??!??!?

Hooray! Yes I'll be at the DIJ gig (got my ticket yesterday) so you'll hear more than you'll ever want to know about Finland and Estonia then.

I'm wondering how long it'll take people to notice this, but I've already put a selection of pretty photos of St Petersburg and Tallinn online. *smallsmile*

Sadly didn't seem to take much in the way of photos of Helsinki, the film is taken up mainly of certain lovely Finnish girls. Oooops. :)

Was it just me, or did most of the male singers from other entries look gay? I'm thinking mainly fo the maltese entry here, but that wasn't the only one. Hmmmmmmm. Lots of glitter good, but what was this thing with the excessive hairgel?? Waaaaah!

I was only really fully certain of the gayness of one of the male singers.
You know, the one in the pink shirt singing about being slowly turned round, in the disco, with the riff from Donna Summer's 'Hot Stuff'. That one, I was sure about.

Yes yes yes come to our party next year - prod me nearer the time if it looks like I may forget it, as i'd meant to throw a eurovision party this year, but only recelled it was happening on Thursday, which was a bit late. :/

My Ukrainian housemate is ecstatic and ordering all of us to come visit her next year, because this means Eurovision will next be hosted in the Ukraine. Hehe.

Plus she knows the girl who won! And gave her fashion advice!
