Mar. 10th, 2004 05:38 pmI'm a very ill kitten today. Moooop.
*cough* *sniffle*
I've been feeling awful all week, but able to cope until today. This morning I woke up and my mind was a big fuzz and my throat totally died and what really hit me was my normally lovely morning coffee tasted of cardboard so I knew I must be ill. First time I've ever had to take a day off work sick, so I've been wracked with massive feelings of guilt and ineptitude all day, and general sadness as I really really love my job and it's awful to have to stay at home. My throat is one big owwwww and my nose keeps blocking, making breathing hard. Right now I'm wrapped up in a big warm blankee and sipping at lime tea I made (from real limes!) and feeling very sorry for myself. My boss phoned about 10 minutes ago to see how I was, and keep me up to date with everything. I hope I'm recovered by tomorrow. Need a good nights sleep. *cough* *cough*
Maybe I overdid things a bit yesterday - despite feeling awfully ill even then, this little fanboy ventured out to Islington in the evening to see RazorBladeKisses play at the Hope & Anchor. Despite having to go home to get changed out of work clothes, I got there slightly early and chatted with the always well dressed
rosenkavalier about clothes designing. Just before RBK came on, the pretty
daevas spotted me and we had a lovely chat, sadly interrupted when she had to go onstage and sing. The Hope & Anchor is one venue which consistently mangles sound, and the stage is not big enough to fit 6 band members on - despite these major handicaps, RBK performed a lovely set, including my fav song "A Death in the Dollhouse". *happybounces*. This fanboy then bounced at the band afterwards and managed to acquire free CD and keyrings. This made me very happy! Yay.
Listening to CD now - amusingly, freedb.org (which has previously correctly identified all my demo CDs from obscure industrial bands) believes the CD to be either Cliff Richard's "I Still believe in you" or Take That's "Pray", and not as RBK. Oooops! *amused*
Today has not been a total write off - I've devoured an ASP book whole, and listened to lots of music - I've decided I'm keeping the Franz Ferdinand album I'd intended to take to
alektoeumenides in Russia because it's so fab. Dearie, if you still want one, I'll buy another...*hides*
A good week for astronomy - First photos of solar eclipses on mars and Hubble Ultra Deep Field is released. The latter is downloadable as a 60MB jpeg, and is wonderful to get lost in just looking at the incredible detail. See, I've been staring into space all day!
