Greetings from your little traveller over here. Have located a internet place at Chicago airport here while waiting for flight home. It's snowing outside right now. This makes me happy. :)

Didn't have much free time, but luckly managed to get up both the Sears tower and the John Hopkins building, and admire the lovely view of lots of towering skyscrapers. The elevators made me feel very dizzy! It's so flat, and Lake Michigan is very very pretty. Due to fortunate timing, I got up both towers about sunset, so got to see chicago from aboe while light and while dark, and watch all the lights come on. An amazing transformation. Watching the sunset from the top of the Sears tower yesterday brought tears to my eyes, it was one of those magical moments, guess i'm a soppy girlie for likeing that sort of little thing.

Hotel was one of the poshest in downtown chicago, I wasn't expecting liveried doormen to take my luggage away to my room the moment I arrived on the doorstep. eeep! It was all quite intimidating. Room was large, spacious and decorated in a very lavish Art Deco style, with a strong sense of bourgeois decadence about it. It seemed to me the sort of place where illicit encounters and other such naughtiness prevailed, and as I romantic I revelled in the whole atmosphere. Feeling frivolous, I indulged by ordering Sushi on room service, and taking a Gin & Tonic to the bath with me. *smallsmile*. Somehow managed to run up a $200 room service bill, but never mind, that's nothing (compared for example with the price of the flight $6600). The Lobby and Dining area was a truly breathtaking indulgence of Art Deco, with gentle Piano/Violin music being played in the corner. The bar was more Art Nouveau, and served delightful cocktails. Mmmmmmmm.

Missing you all, and hope to be back soon. Flight back is overnight, and I get home early tomorrow morning. With luck I may get to see tonight's Lunar Eclipse from the plane, which would be something truly special. :)

*huuuuuuuuuuuuuugs*

*bounces* Have I mentioned that this whole Chicago thing is intensely cool? :)
I hope you saw the eclipse; we saw the start of it from a train, but then we went under some cloud. This probably is not a problem for transatlantic eclipse-viewing!
