snow_leopard returned from Bruges with a lovely present for me, a pretty pretty pretty stained-glass tea-light surround. Yay for her! :) Although I'm not seeing as much of her in the evenings now she's started her night school and for some reason this upsets me. *sadnoises*. On Thursday the pretty Emily took me to see the Greyson Perry exhibition at the Barbican. This is the disturbing art of a very warped transvestite, and it was very impressive and full of power, sexual energy, bigotry and hate. We were both enchanted, but unfortunately took so long over looking at things, the gallery closed before we'd got to see everything. Mooop.
On friday, it was sad to find thatsnow_leopard had decided she couldn't afford Tenebrae. However, I decided to be strong and make myself go and enjoy myself. To this end, I dressed up in the tartiest outfit I've worn in a very long time *smallsmile*. This did wonders for my mood and self esteem. Yay! I got to Tenebrae early, with fluffymormegil and emarkienna and got there to find erming, Phil and Kelly were also there unbelievably early. Weird. It was amazingly lovely when duranorak appeared, and she kept making me blush by insisting I was pretty. Actually, she wasn't the only one saying that - Doseybat was there with her new partner Sarah, and was equally full of compliments, and I got a lot of total strangers stopping me just to say how beautiful I looked.....!???? *boggle* My life doesn't do that usually. That sort of thing happens to other people, not me. Eeeeeeeep. *scared*. Chatted, danced, watched pretty people and tarted at people until they bought me drinks (*ahem*) and finally got home at 5am.
Saturdayinskauldrak moved in. He's nice, but it's going to take a while getting used to there being a new person around the house. I cooked yummy Quorn bolognaise with pasta for everyone, and then we played a very fun game of Gother than Thou, and then everything went a bit fuzzy. Too much drink. Some sort of anxiety attack. Started downing neat Vodka in large quantities until...er.....well I can't recall now. Woke up this morning with a killer headache, but was relieved to find I had an extra hour in which to recover. The number of empty drinks bottles in the kitchen today scared all of us. alektoeumenides phoned from Moscow, and told me the news about the theatre being raided and the seige being ended. I was shocked at first, all those people gassed and dead, but its good that the seige is over, and while the outcome was far from ideal, it was far better than what could have happened. Eeeples.
