Far from being a bored kitten all weekend. Yay! And I even located some сирки! Hooray! But I get ahead of myself.

Friday evening didn't quite go at all to plan.
I'd arranged to meet Emily at leyton tube station. I got there to find it was closed, as someone had decided this was the day to jump in front of a train at Mile End. Arrrgh! The entire Central line was down between Leytonstone and central london. Emily was stuck in central london on one side of the stopped line, I was stuck in the middle, and we both wanted to get to the other end. Luckily for me Leytonstone was not that far a walk and I got there in little time. Not so lucky for Emily, who had to find a very bizarre route to meet me, and I was sat for *3* hours waiting for her. Eeeeep. And just seconds in front of her, to my utter delight, was [livejournal.com profile] yves_ilena, who was heading back to Buckhurst Hill after Kit+Oliver's wedding, where she'd been a bridesmaid. So that was the one good outcome of the awful tube mess, i wouldn't have bumped into yves if it hadn't happened.

When and Emily eventually managed to get to Woodford, we found we had presents for each other (yay- fishies!) and spent a lovely evening watching video ('The Others') and pizza. I'm more of a cat person than a dog person, but Emily's dog Paddington, after the initial 'who's this strange new person' growls, took a liking to me. In fact, by the time Emily's mum gave me a lift home (for which I am very grateful for - I didn't want to risk the tube again) Paddington decided his favourite place to sit in the car was my lap. *blush*

Saturday I cut a swathe through central london shops rushing around like a mad thing spending far too much money which I don't have. Aside from mascara, which I could find none I liked, I managed to obtain everything I was hunting for (see last journal entry). сирки (cierki) were located in Queensway Market! Hooray! Price was steep, at 75p each. Eeeep. I decided to buy a handful, and they had two flavours available, Vanilla and Poppy seed. So watch out everyone, for I will be pestering you all with strange russian cheesy chocolatey food. *evilgrin*

Then I put on my new boots (buckles now having been mended), and hopped on a train to Cambridge. Then realised I'd not remembered to bring any spare boots, so if my feet objected to the boots I was going to be in serious trouble. Having not realised the magic fast trains now only take 45 minutes from King's Cross to Cambridge, I managed to get there early. And.....it all turned out to be a good night, despite certain peoples doom-mongering, and my worries that I wouldn't know anyone there. Kit and Oliver seemed very happy with the present I gave them, and I was very impressed by Fire and Forget's 15 minute set, especially Oliver's singing. *bounce*. And lots of old friends were caught up with. It was lovely to talk to [livejournal.com profile] fluffymormegil and [livejournal.com profile] rowan_leigh, [livejournal.com profile] 5691kb and Jo, [livejournal.com profile] gnimmel and [livejournal.com profile] purplepiano, Gina, Richard, [livejournal.com profile] gothslut, [livejournal.com profile] aiwendel, [livejournal.com profile] davefish and probably many others. I must have talked gibberish at times, so apologies to anyone i bored to death. 4 pints on an empty stomach and i'm not quite the same person. Ah well. I had fun anyway. When they chucked us out, I went back to [livejournal.com profile] gnimmel and [livejournal.com profile] purplepiano's house. I can't remember who came up with the suggestion of watching Spinal Tap when we got there, but, er...we did. And then it all goes a bit vague and funny and I woke up on the sofa.

On sunday, I decided everyone needed to have сирки for breakfast, and we divided one of the Vanilla flavoured sweets between us. Yum. I then made a hasty exit to catch a train to London. Evil engineering works made me have to travel via Liverpool street, so I was late meeting [livejournal.com profile] duranorak. Much gossip was exchanged, and then I took her to Berwick Street for music buying (she got a Joy Division CD and badges! Yay!), and we stumbled across some weird festival in Regent Street, and then we said goodbyes and she left. I headed to the Intrepid Fox for Asylum, where Emily (my Emily, not [livejournal.com profile] duranorak, this could easily be confusing any number of people) was in a bit of a panic trying to get everything organised. Things got sorted, and I had a lovely time.

I was exhausted by this time, having still not got home since Cambridge, and was ready to flop. Then I was reminded that Asylum had hired out Gossips to put on a live event that evening. Emily said she'd look after me, so I still ended up going, and it was good! I talked lots to Donna, and to [livejournal.com profile] sheridanwilde and Abigail and then joined Emily on the door, for she was being bouncer for an hour (eeep!). The bands were good, but any sort of dancing was way beyond me by this time, so I just flopped and listened. And then we all went home.
Just to annoy me, my much needed sleep was stopped by someone knocking at the door at 7:30am this morning to replace the electricity meter. Grrrrrrr.

YAY!

Oh you tired little thing - I guess that's a fair excuse for you not emailing me! The film and Paddington and wedding thingy and stuff all sound fab, AND you found СИРКИ! Yay! Still, 75p a go is rather steep, especially considering that they actually cost about 20p! Ah well. Never come accross poppy-seed flavour before mind...then again I am avoiding the damn things. I'll still bring back a huge bag of them for you, but it's nice to know that you can find them there too!
