Halloween

Halloween involved lots of pretty carved pumpkins, candles, good music, nice people and party food. Yay! I'd even gothed up to college during the day, which got odd looks from the students I'm teaching, but they didn't run away screaming. Obviously I should try harder next year. *grin*

I'd been planning to perform just a small simple samhain prayer this year, when I got home, but when midnight came, I'd already felt an strong desire to go for something more elaborate. I take a very liberal view on these things, to the extent I was using jellybeans and Lemsip as offerings, which I admit is unusual, but they were the only things to hand. I had a very unexpected calling to the Samhain flame, and I'm still weirded out by that encounter. It was however, deeply moving, and very calming. I spread the seeds of new ideas, which are already bearing fruit and coming true (hooray!) and have high hopes for the future now. Old thoughts have hopefully been buried now. Still, I'm touched by what happened. *peacefulsmile*

Pretty fireworks

Yesterday, in celebration of penny's wonderful birthday, it decided to rain lots and lots and lots and we all got very very wet. At the Tate we saw the big red thing. It's big. And it's red. And it looks like a giant vagina. Only it's got two of them, and theres holes in both ends, so I guess it's not. Even so it looks very sexual in nature. And it's huuuuuuge. We then saw lots of beer. And then lots of empty beer glasses. And then we went to battersea park and saw a big bonfire and lots of pretty fireworks. Some when swirl, some went wiggle, some went whooooosh, some went glittery, some went sparkly, and some were all at once, and all were very pretty. Yay! :)

And now I intend to go shopping for things I need for my delirium outfit for the party on Friday. Nobody else is planning to come as delirium I hope? *wonders*
