Dancing is a real joy, once you're past the "eeek scary don't know what I'm doing" phase. It takes confidence and to some degree, trust, in what your partner will do for really good dancing. Poor dancers are afraid of their partner's personal space. I learnt loads by dancing the night away with some very keen dancers at several all-night French dances whilst I was a student.
