What’s the name for the inside bit of the elbow? And the same for the knee? I need to know! *curiousnoises*

Am so pleased about Bank holidays - 4 wonderful days off, to do lots of lazy flopping about! Yaaaaaaaay. I fear I may be getting idle, but I’ve just had such a busy week I’m strangely excited by the novel idea of doing nothing at all for a few days. Maybe I’ll suffer from sensory withdrawal and start drawing pretty things in the middle of the night, or write awful poems. Oh dear, I fear I may become effusively creative now. Eeeep.

I’ve been doing the social butterfly thing again. Aaaargh. Last Thursday [livejournal.com profile] ixwin offered me her spare ticket for The Now Show being recorded for Radio 4, so we pootled along to the drillhall with [livejournal.com profile] vectorious. This is always fun, and I was in giggles for much of it. [livejournal.com profile] ixwin‘s comments about Belly-button fluff got lots of laughs, so hopefully got included in the final broadcast. Must get tickets for that more frequently. Got home and found we had a house gathering - [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard’s friend [livejournal.com profile] snathe was visiting, and was very happy to see [livejournal.com profile] happygoff and Chewie also visiting, who want me to feed their kitten this weekend. Must not forget that or will be very unhappy kitten. Friday evening the enterprising [livejournal.com profile] snathe produced a jigsaw of the London Underground map, and it was inevitable with me liking maps, and maybe the influence of too much elderflower wine, that we decided to put together the jigsaw from memory. This was much easier than it first looked, except for the vast amounts of scary whitespace. Erk. Yay us! *bounce* I later terrified poor [livejournal.com profile] elettaria who lured me onto MSN, by unceasingly waffling about polish drainpipes at her. Ooops. Elderflower wine makes me think oddly, I’ve decided. Bad me. Saturday I trekked boldly out with flowers, chocolates, a pile of pretty manga and other shiny goodies to Cambridge to enjoy the whole weekend with my lovely [livejournal.com profile] cassielalone, who was very happy and pleased to see me. *happysmiles*. The whole of Sunday was spent in bed *shyblush*. Monday evening [livejournal.com profile] snow_leopard had invited me along to a lesbian gathering in the dev with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] bad_faery, Robyn, [livejournal.com profile] doseybat and ...er...[livejournal.com profile] timeplease (hopefully not a lesbian) and we fooded at Camden Wagamamas where they have *huge* jugs of sake. Ooopsie. I was a little too tipsy. Got home to find that [livejournal.com profile] telpher‘s computer had exploded. Much fun! Tried to fix, but diagnosed the motherboard was toast *sob*. Tuesday I landed on [livejournal.com profile] karen2205’s Coffee @ Borders gathering, were I dragged [livejournal.com profile] compilerbitch and [livejournal.com profile] doseybat along for the first time, met [livejournal.com profile] rahael, gave [livejournal.com profile] neonchameleon my old mobile phone (the one that used to belong to [livejournal.com profile] mirabehn), [livejournal.com profile] arkady was showing off her adorable doll of [livejournal.com profile] reddragdiva, [livejournal.com profile] ewtikins taught [livejournal.com profile] mstevens how to crochet, and I enlightened a confused [livejournal.com profile] hairyears on the magical directions leading to Haymarket Wagamamas, where we then ate at. I avoided the sake this time. Good plan. Tonight I’d had several invitations to various pubs (from [livejournal.com profile] squirmelia, [livejournal.com profile] pinkdormouse and [livejournal.com profile] inskauldrak and others) but I’m feeling so exhausted I want to just stay in. So I am doing just that. Letting the elderflower wine do the talking. ooops. *waveshandsaroundrandomly*

I’m doomed to infatuation. Now in possession of a pretty photo of the Ninimonster, I had to go find the prettiest photoframe ever to display her loveliness in. I don’t know if this is sad of me, or soppy of me, but I’m totally obsessed. I miss her right now. Lots. Waaaaaah! *screams*

Lots of casting for exciting things next month - hugely pleased that [livejournal.com profile] the_alchemist has cast me as the beautiful Anne Page in the Merry wives of Windsor which should be a muchly fun role to play, and [livejournal.com profile] smhwpf has cast me with parts including Spike, Willow and Tara in the great big Buffy the vampire slayer readthrough of doom so am bouncing about that too. Yaaaaaaaaaay.

So that’s me. How is everyone else today?

Sleepy, but I've not got lots of catalogues for tents, bought a pair of trousers and a top for £5 each in M&S, have been to Sainsburys so I won't starve when the shops are closed on Sunday so it's not all bad.

As Reg Smeeton assures us in Sir Henry At Rawlinson End, there is no proper name for the back of the knee (http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/rob/bonzofaq.htm#17).  In fact, the name is, apparently, the popliteal fossa (http://www.bartleby.com/107/158.html).  The actual piece of meat nearest the surface is the posterior cruciate ligament (http://www.bartleby.com/107/pages/page343.html), as far as I can make out.  There appears to be no common name for the back of the knee, however, so the point may be argued.

Somehow not catching up on any sleep. This is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Almost falling asleep in lessons is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.

And tomorrow it's all going to start again.

I really *must* get a goof 12 hours tonight...

*sheepish grin*

It should only be Sunday that there's a problem with shops being closed.

Tents - 'cos there are so far three different Guide events this summer that I'm going to be going to on my own - while I probably could borrow a tent from somewhere I think my life will be easier if I buy my own light weight one. Anything I borrow would be canvas and far too heavy for me to take by public transport. I think it's probably cheaper overall for me to buy my own tent, rather than hire a car to go to these things (car hire looks like £62 for a weekend - tent looks like it'll be somewhere between £50 and £80).

(Am trying to resist the temptation to buy a new sleeping bag (small sister has mine on more or less permanent loan, and it'd be nice for me to have one with me in London) and a Thermarest - self inflating, thin mattress).

Lucky you. I was planning on catching up on sleep and work but annoying people have ruined that plan and I'm being sarcastic at people instead.

'Twas a shame not to see you, although I turned out to be very bust as it was.

Have you still got my shades BTW?

I haven't got the faintest idea. I always call it "That bit at the back of your knee. You know what I mean. It's really really ticklish."
