Shopping Therapy

Pootled along to the Vegan Christmas market at Kensington town hall today, which was nice, if a bit overcrowded with fluffy hippy lesbians. Picked up a pair of very fluffy and warm polar boots, which will be ideal for Moscow. Yay! My toes are now safe from turning blue and dropping off. Then on the way to my favourite spice shop located just off portobello road, I spotted the prettiest velvet coat ever in a shop, and despite it being stupidly expensive, I first tried it on, and then bought it! I now look very pretty, and I’m told its very very me! And there’s something about spending huge amounts of money that makes me feel giddy and happy. Yaaaaay. *bounces*

CATS last night was incredible - it always keeps me enthralled, and never fails to bring tears of joy to my eyes. *happysobs*. Plus the lovely company too, all of whom enjoyed it immensely. I went with yvesilena, casby, the_alchemist, robert_jones, taimatsu, borusa, aiwendel and olithered, and it was lovely to see you all again and catch up with you. *hugehugs*

In a burst of enthusiasm about musicals, I have desires to see Phantom of the Opera (the musical, not the imminent cinema thingie) in the vaguely near future - would anyone be up for going with me? (the_lady_lily, I know we’ve talked of going before?, and arkady, I know you want to go again?) *hopefulsmiles*

Yay! Would be extremely happy to see it with an Elly and Nick. :) :) I've not really planned when, I better think about that. My social life is already a bit too full. Eeep.

My boots are so *warm* I can't wear them in the current climate as my feet overheat! I need it to snow just so I can try my boots out!

That would have been lovely - ah well. Pity you couldn't stay in London longer :( Maybe another time you're in London we can plan things in advance and all meet up or something fun.

*bounce* *bounce* *bounce* It was lovely! Despite seeing CATS twice before, I'm still awestuck by it. Thanks ever so much for arranging everything and herding everyone to go there, it all worked out amazingly in the end. :)

oh...um, that'd require being organized, which is what you're good at, dearie. Less than 2 weeks before I leave London for variosu xmas things, so I doubt I'd be able to book anything in advance for then, excepting doing an arkady and just turning up at tkts on the day and seeing what they have available. Which will probably mean January, of which all my weekends are already full up. Would a weeknight in early January work for you? *ponders*

Sounds like you had fun - and good to know you got good boots :) Hope they aren't too slippery though! I still have to wear mine in, but as it hasn't been awfully cold, I've not bothered wearing them much yet. I find my buffalos have pretty much the best grip of all my shoes! Weird that.

The new coat sounds cool - did you get it in the shop on the way to Portabello, which has lots of handmade patchwork stuff? I've always wanted to buy stuff there! *jealous*

Although just re-reading your description of the boots...they aren't actually *fluffy on the outside* are they?

For two reasons I hope not:

1. outside fluff gets wet. Bad.

2. no guy would wear such woosy boots. It would point you out as a foreigner within seconds *eeek* As you know, anonymity is the key in this country.

New coat is incredibly nice - yes it's from that shop (Maribou) - all handmade stuff. :) I've spotted things in there so many times before I've wanted, but its the first time I've gone there since being a poor student. Ooopsie! :)

Never fear - only fluffy on the inside, they claim to be waterproof on the outside, and have good strong grip.
