*prettyphoto* of Saturn's rings taken by Cassini probe, with the moon Mimas against the rings. Nature is so beautiful. *wistfulsigh*. Want to get back into doing astronomy again.
Dah! Don't be fooled - it's computer generated! They just copied and pasted that "moon" to make it look more realistic. They haven't even bothered to remove the mistake they made in the directino of the lines at the bottom.
Here's a more realistic one (http://www.davidjmiller.net/soverslg.jpg) ;-)
And this one too (http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/56659main_mercury_cartoon.jpg)
So that's why Jupiter is so big - it has to hold all the other planets when we are finished playing with them. (http://www.nasa.gov/images/content/56588main_jupiterfullofplanets.gif)
just watched a program on telly i taped a while back about landing on the planets in our system, it makes me think back to the national space centre in Leicester, a great day out for those who like astronomy. Wonderful pic
